Ah, we kid. Of course Rachel Berry will be back in season four, without competing on The Glee Project. But Michele is still going to pop up on the Oxygen reality series this summer…

Lea will appear in the premiere episode of The Glee Project’s just-announced second season as a guest mentor. The series just began filming earlier this week, and Michele is the first of what will surely be many Glee castmember cameos to come.

She tweeted this weekend to her followers: “So excited to announce that I’ll be guest mentoring on the season 2 premiere of ‘The Glee Project!’”

The Glee spinoff searches for the next multi-episode guest star on the Fox hit, with 14 contenders vying for the final prize. Glee creator Ryan Murphy will return as a judge, along with producer Dante Di Loreto, choreographer Zach Woodlee and vocal coach Nikki Anders.

The Glee Project’s second season premieres this summer on Oxygen.

Great pick for the first mentor of the season, right Gleeks?

But that doesn’t mean graduating seniors like Michele’s Rachel Berry won’t be back: Reilly confirms that although her character is graduating, she will be staying on the show. “We are graduating the characters,” he says. “Ryan and the guys have come up with a really cool idea. There will not be a ‘Glee’ spinoff, but I think it will be something cool.”

When asked about whether this “cool idea” would be sort of like a show-within-the show following the characters, Reilly says, “I think I’m alluding to some version of that, but I don’t want to get into it. That’s as far as I’m going to take it.”

So, there you go: Although the current New Directions seniors are still graduating, they will not be leaving on the show. Want any more details? Too bad. “That’s all I can say about it now,” Reilly says. “No spinoff, characters graduating, cool season next year.”

Any ideas on this “really cool idea”? We honestly can’t begin to dream of what they’re contemplating.

Tant pis, Ms. Michele!!

On her Twitter today, the star announced: “”New York, u know how much I love you. But if I see another horse & carriage struggling in this winter weather I may not be able 2 be here.”

This is quite a bold move for the young actress, especially considering that most New Yorkers probably don’t consider the singer a New York staple. Does Glee tape in New York? How much of the year does she actually live here?

Still, it’s for a good cause, because as we’ve seen, those carriage horses are getting a roughshod treatment of late. And seeing celebrities take a stand towards anything animal-related (as long as PETA isn’t involved..oh wait, they are) tends to pull on our heartstrings.

So what do you think? Are Ms. Michele’s threats in vain, or do you think the city will perk up and listen? And what will happen to the horses if they suddenly run out of business?
